Purrfect for all my cats! Review by Cat Lady
Value Quality Price Value Quality Price I have several outdoor feral cats that I have purchased these mats for. I live in Chicago IL and the winters here are brutal. I have 6 of these plugged into my garage for my ferals. I have put these mats inside a feralvilla shelter as well as in a storage container. When I go to check on and feed the kitties they are snuggled on them. I've had these mats for 2 years now and have had no problems with them. They are fantastic!!! I have 3 indoor cats that love them as well. They are always on them. I have 2 of these mats for my indoor cats and have to buy another one so they're not fighting for them. I would highly recommend this product for outdoor as well as for indoor cats. I've purchased all of these mats from amazon as they have the best prices online for this product. (Posted on 12/1/11)

Your cat(s) will thank you! Review by Anne Marie
Value Quality Price Price Value Quality I brown-bagged my eggplant parm hero for lunch one morning & set it w/my stuff outside, ran inside to get a few things & returned to find a HUNGRY stray eating my hero! She was more hungry than scared, so she finished it off and eventually, she came to live on our ouside porch, under a lawnchair draped with blankets & comforters. There she lived in a round fleece catbed and didn't care to venture. I delivered her meals & water under the chair and life was good. Eventually we caught her & the vet cleared her of all feline diseases and we brought her in - and she was cool with it, but we've recently had to relocate her to our enclosed front-porch as she's unhappy with an infant we're fostering. The K & H' Heated kitty pad got us back into kitty's good-graces (we're forgiven for having kicked her out as we the winters here in the US North East can be long & cold, so thanks for a great product. I LOVE that it's safe enough to use all the time, that I can sleep in peace knowing the cat won't freeze to death & the unit won't burn our house down! Does anyone know if it's ok to use without the faux fleece cover (we lost it when we stored it in the basement this past summer). Thanks for letting me know! (Posted on 11/19/11)

Buzzing Sound Review by KittyLove
Value Quality Price Price Value Quality I purchased this product yesterday and upon plugging it in heard a high pitched buzzing/humming noise. I left it in a while and it would stop for a while & then start in again ~ very annoying noise. I took the product back to PetSmart and exchanged it for a new one. I just returned home and plugged it in only to find that this one is doing the same thing. The product heats up nicely but that sound is so annoying I plan on taking it back for a refund. I can't imagine my cat trying to sleep on it with that sound, it's really bad.
K&H Response:
KittyLove, the noise you hear is simply frequency interference. You have something that is running on the same frequency as the pad. Another example of this type of interference it when you see lines in your TV when you run the vacuum cleaner. If you move the pad to a different location the noise should stop. (Posted on 11/7/11) -
GREAT PRODUCT! Review by mbeerman
Price Value Quality I have 6 of these kennel heating pads and my ferals love them! I have had some of the pads for over 6 years and they still heat up and are plugged in all winter. Some of the coiled springs have rusted which does not look good, but the important thing is the heat. The cats have not messed up any of the fleece covers, but I also lay another piece of fleece over them. (Posted on 6/12/11)

Need a replacement cover! Review by Bob H.
Price Value Quality After 4 years the 3 ferals that hang around my house have destroyed the "faux lambskin" cover. Would the person that doesn't use the cover be willing to mail it to me?? (Posted on 4/9/11)

Great for cats Review by Awillis
Price Value Quality I bought this from Amazon in December for a stray cat that I had been feeding. I put it inside a shelter on my covered porch, with an outdoor rated extension cord. It took a while but he finally figured out it keeps him warm and now he sleeps on it often. After 3 months, however, the pad is heated all the time. - that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars for quality. (Posted on 3/27/11)

love it Review by kitsey
Price Value Quality my kitty loves this, I put it in a shelter house under my covered patio and she loves it . I use a ul listed cord with this every winter and it's fine. I wish they made a cool pad for the summer that plugs in . (Posted on 12/12/10)

Awesome Mats! Review by Brenda DJ
Price Value Quality I bought 6 of these mats and made my own custom 6 unit cat condo for my outside/barn cat friends. The cats loved them!!!! They spent the winter toasty warm. It was nice to see them all snuggled in- six little heads looking at me from the condo every morning when I did my barn chores. The mats all held up fine through a pretty harsh winter. And a bonus- they are environmentally friendly- they draw very little power. (Posted on 9/29/10)

Feral cats love it -- wish it had a longer cord! Review by Cathy
Price Value Quality I have one aging feral cat who has a winter shelter on my back deck. She's been walking a little more stiffly these days, so I thought some warmth might perk her old bones up. I chose not to use the included fleece cover as we use straw in her shelter for bedding. I put the pad in the shelter under the straw and she loves it. The only downside I have found to this product so far is that the cord is too short and the instructions say not to use an extension cord. Feral cats prefer to be well away from humans, yet my outdoor outlet is right near the back door. I had to move her house closer to the door, which means we might spook her a bit more, but I am guessing the warmth will keep her coming back!
***K&H Comment on this post:
As long as you use a heavy duty, UL listed, outdoor rated cord it is perfectly safe. K&H does not advise using straw in conjunction with any electrical or heated products.*** (Posted on 2/7/10)
